Child Safety Standards
Habiboo is built for Muslim adults who are seriously seeking marriage. This page explains how we keep the platform that way.
1. Our Position
Habiboo is a serious matrimonial platform for adult Muslim women and men who are looking for marriage. The platform is not designed for, and is not made available to, anyone under 18. We do not tolerate any content or behaviour that exploits or endangers children, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation (CSAE).
This page describes how we keep minors off the platform, how members can report a concern, and how we respond when a report involves the safety of a child.
2. Adults Only
- Habiboo is restricted to people aged 18 and over. Anyone under 18 is not permitted to register or use the platform under our Terms of Service.
- Each new account confirms a date of birth during registration.
- We do not knowingly create or maintain accounts for anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, the account is removed and the data associated with it is deleted in line with applicable law.
3. Verifying Real People
We focus on confirming that the person behind a profile is a real adult, rather than monitoring private conversations between members.
- Selfie verification. New members complete a live selfie challenge so we can confirm that the person setting up the account is real, present, and matches the photos on their profile.
- Profile photo review. Photos that appear on a member's public profile are reviewed automatically before they go live. Photos that do not show a single clear face, or that contain content unsuitable for a marriage platform, are not published.
- Manual review where needed. Profiles flagged by our automated checks or by other members can be paused while a member of our trust and safety team reviews them.
4. Privacy in Conversations
Conversations between members are private. We do not read, scan, or analyse the content of private messages, voice notes, photos, or videos shared inside chats for moderation purposes. The platform processes that content only to deliver it (for example, generating a thumbnail or transcoding a video so it plays smoothly).
We rely on the people in a conversation to tell us if something is wrong, and we make reporting easy and confidential.
5. Reporting and Blocking
- You can report any profile or conversation directly from inside the app, without needing to copy anything or leave the screen.
- You can block any member at any time. Blocking immediately stops further interaction.
- Reports are kept confidential. The reported member is not told who reported them.
- Reports involving the safety of a child are prioritised and reviewed by our trust and safety team. We aim to act on such reports as quickly as possible, and within 24 hours where feasible.
6. When We Receive a Child Safety Report
- The reported account can be paused immediately while we review.
- If the report is confirmed, the account is removed and the related content is taken down.
- If we identify content or conduct that we are required to report under applicable law (for example, suspected child sexual abuse material), we report it to the relevant authority — including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable — and to authorities in the jurisdictions where the user is located, in line with our legal obligations.
- We respond to lawful requests from law enforcement investigating child safety offences and retain records for the periods required by applicable law.
7. Designated Point of Contact
For child safety enquiries from law enforcement, regulators, NGOs, or platform partners:
Contact details

8. Keeping This Up To Date
We review these standards at least once a year, and whenever the service or applicable law changes in a meaningful way. The version, last-updated date, and effective date at the top of this page reflect the current version.
