Every family is different

Family involvement in Muslim marriage: three ways to find a spouse

Family involvement in Muslim marriage looks different in every home. Some people search on their own. Some families prefer to lead the search for a son or daughter. Many like to do it together. Habiboo is built for all three, so each family can choose what feels right for its culture and circumstances, and change it later.

Choose the path that fits

Seeker alone

The seeker searches, and brings family in when ready.

The seeker signs up, completes their own selfie check and sets their own photo privacy. When they want family involved, a wali can join later with their own account.

Good when someone prefers to begin privately, or their family is not ready to take part yet.

The profile shows a Photo verified badge, and no family badge.

Wali manages the profile

A wali leads the search.

A parent or guardian sets up the profile, guides introductions and chats for the seeker. The seeker does not need a login at this stage, and access can be given at any time from Settings.

Good when families traditionally lead the search, or when the person is not yet ready to use the app themselves.

Other members see a Wali managed badge, so everyone knows the family takes care of this profile.

Seeker and wali together

A wali sets it up, and the seeker takes part directly.

A wali creates the profile and shares a private link. The seeker signs up, completes their own selfie check and takes part directly, with the wali there to guide and support when needed.

Good when family guidance and the voice of the person searching both matter.

Other members see a Family involved badge.
